Comedic Gold Entertainment presents a night of classic stand-up comedy at Madame Jenny’s, hosted by comedian extraordinaire Will Cary and featuring a stellar lineup that includes Thomas Durdan, Bryan Walsh, Mike Terry, Sara Cartwright, Taury Steward and David Laurence.

“I feel like Beyonce when I touch the stage. But in real life, I’m more like the rest of Destiny's Children,” event organizer Will Cary explains. “The art of making others laugh is a gift and blessing that means a lot to me. I'm all about making an impact on people’s lives through comedy. I really strive to get people thinking and to give our guests a night out they deserve.”

Come out and support these up-and-coming comedians while enjoying a night of laughter at Scranton’s new upscale Speakeasy, Madame Jenny’s!

The Night’s Lineup:

Bryan Walsh is a comic and he’s going to make you laugh. If he doesn’t, he’ll ask Madame Jenny’s to give you your money back. (*Note from management: We won’t do it. But at least Bryan tried). He’s the winner of numerous roast battles and has had his stories published when he was only 11 years old.

Thomas Durdan is a product of Scranton. A 2004 graduate of  West Scranton High School, his passion for comedy started as far back as grade school. If you’ve seen him before, you know you’re in for a great time. His energy and passion can be felt every time he picks up a mic. In addition to comedy and podcasts, he’s devoted to helping his community however he can.

Mike Terry is an established comedian on the Syracuse, New York, circuit. Quiet until he gets on the mic, Terry is a strong comic who's done time at the Funny Bone and the Broadway Comedy Club and was a regular at the 'Cuse Comedy Showcase.

Sara Cartwright hails from the region where Yuengling Beer is brewed. A fresh face to the comedy circuit, she is the quintessential good-girl-gone-funny. Host of the comedy open mic night, Lager Laughs at Pep’s Pub, she’s also a co-host on the popular podcast, “Things That Were Not Cool in High School.

Taury Seward won the Who's Got Next? Rochester, N.Y., tournament and works steadily around New York and Pennsylvania. He enjoys Bob Dylan, spam and amusement parks. He's a crowd favorite and always helpful at the grocery store. Seward runs the successful “Laughs with Friends” and “Black on Black” comedy series and lives in constant fear of his grandfather.

David Laurence is a comedian and member of The 502 of Comedy.  But his life hasn’t been all about jokes and laughs.  David is a survivor and recovered addict who is now spreading his message of hope and positivity through comedy. David’s tremendous life changes, dedication and commitment have earned him a performance at one of the most respected and hallowed halls of comedy: Dangerfield’s in Manhattan.

Madame Jenny's at the Bittenbender

Welcome to Madame Jenny’s, where you can step back in time and visit Scranton during the Roaring 20’s, where booze flowed freely despite Prohibition and brothels flourished in what was known as the city’s Red Light District. Remotely tucked away in a hidden back room of the historic Bittenbender Building, 126 Franklin Avenue, you can enter the secret location of Scranton’s premiere, upscale speakeasy. A century ago, Madame Jenny’s is where the socially prominent and wealthiest citizens once indulged in all forms of forbidden fruit.

If you manage to make it inside, settle into Madame Jenny’s lavish splendor. Sip classic cocktails. Nosh on gourmet vittles. Sit back and enjoy entertainment offerings that harken back to the city’s celebrated mantra: “If you can make it in Scranton, you can make it anywhere.”

Long before Scranton became the “Electric City,” it was known as “The Wickedest City in the East” thanks to its bootleggers and brothels. Madame Jenny’s pays homage to this forgotten era all while offering top-notch drinks, fancy foodstuffs, and outstanding theatrical performances in an upscale, elegant setting.

If you can find your way here, we’re quite positive you’ll deem Madame Jenny’s the Bee’s Knees. Happy hunting and we look forward to serving you. Cheers!
